Dutch Electronic Music & Experimental Venues

The Dom in Cologne
The past few weeks have been amazing. I’ve had a chance to see John Tejada, Plaid and Orbital in Amsterdam, Dominik Eulberg around the corner in Nijmegen and Michael Mayer and Aroma Pitch 180 kilometers (about 112 miles) down an autobahn south from the Netherlands in Cologne, Germany (which is beautiful).

I also got to meet José and Ties who we met up with at that amazing Orbital concert (entire concert video, tracklist and downloadable mp3 here).  Ties is also part of a really cool band that does live electronics:

(by the way, if you are reading this in your email or mobile phone, be sure to click on through to the site to watch the great video Ties put together of a recent live show)

The creative opportunities for electronic arts and music fans, supporters and makers is invigorating to see and experience.  In May, I am volunteering at the Dutch Electronic Arts Festival to learn more about the European/Dutch electronic music/art culture as well as network with academics, practitioners, educators and dj/musicians.  I’ve been wanting to do this for over 10 years now!

In the meantime, please enjoy this embedded grid of 42, 23-second long looping videos of video feedback sent through 4 passes of Windows Movie Maker’s ‘mosaic’ effect set to all auto-play at the same time you load your browser.
