 Skycamp is the San Francisco-based brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Joseph Seif, drummer Ron Kutulas, guitarist/bassist Tobin Mori (formerly of Ee) and electronic music producer Morgan Sully (AKA Memeshift). Their mercurial blend of shoegaze, post-punk and art rock comes through in their multi-instrumentalist approach and relentless sonic attack. Taking cues from the likes of Joy Division, Sonic Youth and Slowdive, Seif’s songwriting is often very autobiographical- a contrast to the spacey, laconic vocals typically associated with the shoegaze genre. Transamerican is Skycamp’s first studio release.
