Getting Active on SoundCloud Again
I signed up for SoundCloud in 2008 and thought it was the coolest thing ever. It’s kind of like the ‘LinkedIn’ for DJs and electronic musicians.
However, I had soo much music I wanted to upload and I also had some fantasy of actually selling my music to support myself – or at least get new gear with. As the upload limit was a mere 120 minutes, I had to be pretty picky in what I uploaded. Or make more, better music.
Well, since coming here to Europe, I have met many (2manygermaz from Berlin), many (Boudewyn from Nijmegen vote for him at the link!) people who are djing, making music (my good friend Alex of course!) and are generally creative (Hanneke from Eindhoven).
And I have been inspired greatly.
SoundCloud seems to be *the* way to connect with other musicians, so I decided to go ahead an invest in a ‘Lite’ account and fork up the $26 for the year.
Good purchase. I already have loads more stats on the activity for my tracks and am really enjoying the new interface (which is currently in beta and not public). Certainly feel a bit more ‘professional’ now.
Over the coming days and weeks, I’ll be adding new tracks and DJ mixes – some old, some new. Feel free to explore them and follow me here.
I also have a set list, I created of some of my favorite and more recent tracks, songs (a cover of Nina Simone’s version of ‘Wild is the Wind’!) and DJ mixes for your listening pleasure.
Greetings from Berlin!
