Mix I made while waiting. I was anxious to get the party started – I mean, c’mon, Loco Dice’s mix of Hard South Americans AND the Claude von Stroke mix of Samim’s Heater?  The toms of Danilo Vigorito’s Heka Dark Side took it to a darker place while Slutbox’s Filthy Fibber into Stimming’s The Anger slowly brought it slowly back up into a noisy crescendo preceding some choice melody-driven tracks from Alexi Delano, Petter and Holden.

This is a new dj mix I recently completed on behalf of an electronic music collective I’m forming with my buddies Aaron and Monk.  We aim to support and promote local, East Bay Area (Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, etc.) electronic music communities by:

• producing electronic music events
• marketing and promoting local electronic music artists
• connecting these audiences and artists to each other
• providing music, customers and revenue to local businesses

After having an awesome meeting on Monday (stay tuned for results of that meeting), some next steps for us were to each make a 15 minute ‘mini’ dj mix to contribute to a ‘dj sampler’ of sorts to shop around to local venues.

This is my mix, which I hope to be the first mix of many featuring local electronic musicians and djs.  If you are interested in participating in our collective (we currently need connectors, promoters and a small donation to help us start a meetup), contact me!

I <3 Weird Techno was made after a night of obtuse raving in Tijuana, Mexico on the roof of a squatted parking lot. There were holes in the concrete roof with exposed rebar and rubble everywhere we danced.  With the intense laser show, 2 story high video screen and e’ed up kids everywhere,  I’m surprised no one fell in.   At the end of the night after our friends‘ dj sets, we sauntered back to our car and barely got out of Tijuana legally.  This mix, was improvised at their house the day after on very little sleep and lots of energy from the previous night’s ramblings.  Enjoy! Café Mix Rendered was created 20 minutes before an audition for a weekly at a coffee shop in Encinitas, California. It was my improvised audition piece and kind of gave me my start performing in and around San Diego – a meaningful mix for me of some of my favorite artist that typified the weekly.

6 Weeks In… is some general in-bedroom wankery with a Korg Electribe, Ableton and some of my favorite tracks.  I’ve just moved up with my girlfriend and I live in the Sunset.  I’m so happy to have my space set up.

This was a live set I did with my buddy Louis Haiman (a.k.a. Dubulator) at the Brokenbeat vs. ShareSD party at the Kava Lounge. A really good show. This set was all improvised.

This is a track I improvised using Ableton 3 and a loop from my trusty Yamaha PSR-36 (pictured above).

I had a small Korg Electribe ES-1.  I put in Adult.  and then i played with it.  These are the results
