Post image for Homework Assignment For Educators Working with Indigenous Communities

On my first day of teaching classes at Newman Senior High School, I came across an educators’ handbook for working with Aboriginal and indigenous  communities.  These were some of the questions asked in the assignment:

What is the name of the traditional Indigenous custodians of the land where you are?
What languages did they speak?
Where did [...]

Post image for Sunrise on the Pilbara

This morning, I woke up extra early (5:30) to go and watch the sunrise over the Pilbara alone.
Today, I’ll get introduced to the local neighborhood center (to watch some workshops in session with Elias) and then I;ll go to meet up with Lee – our community contact here who’s currently coordinating a local community festival [...]

What is a Man?

I’m thinking of writing a personal manifesto. These are the first inklings:

Maximize potential for happiness at any given moment.
Make more choices without overthinking the consequences too much.

“hey baby,
i’m reading this crazy neuroscience book right now, which is all about how rhythmic and oscillatory patterns of activity in [...]

It’s home to 8 different media arts organizations doing really cutting edge work while providing support for the independent film community in [...]

Last week I completed some music for Flynn Witmeyer. Flynn is a movie producer (and good friend of mine!) in San Francisco working on a horror film called Imp of Satan.
I developed a score for it of about 10/15 tracks long with the remix of the main theme found on the myspace page for the [...]

I may not have been the first to notice this, but the clouds you can generate with del.icio.us for use in websites and blogs can bring up an interesting perceived ‘profile’ about the user based on their tags.
For instance in my tag cloud below, one might think that i have more interest in ‘webdev’ than [...]

I used to live in Indonesia in s small village called Gunung Sari. Everyday in the early evening, the putu man would come walking along a path that came near our house…

This is a digital story I made while working as a CTC VISTA at the San Diego LGBT Center. In it, I explored the noise I sometimes see in the world around me. Where are we going? What is important?

so i think this is my last week working for StandUp and I’m a little sad on leaving. Today at the center i said, ‘What the fuck? Let’s do it” and so on a whim, i took all of our kids that were there to go and see Starwars Episode III. [...]
