About
My purpose is to use my imagination and entrepreneurship to develop and evangelize platforms for linking people to knowledge.
In short, I remix information to help networks reach their potential.
I do this by:
- + developing multi-channel social network strategies
- + conducting social media/IT training for non-profits
- + building community technology capacity
- + cultivating leadership in peer networks
I am happiest accomplishing these things embedded in the communities I serve and believe any innovation must be collaborative, transparent and sustained by strong, community-informed vision.
My skills and passions entail:
- + content management system installation, configuration, development
- + ‘mashing up’ online information, RSS and common APIs
- + navigating and creating online communities
- + blogging and social network ettiquette
- + brand monitoring and management
- + community technology/informatics
- + content marketing
- + digital storytelling
- + various open-source tools and software
I also enjoy public speaking and am avid performer of original and dj’ed electronic music.
Morgan is one of the most inspiring yet practical people with whom I have ever worked. He constantly surprises me with new and innovative ideas that have greatly pushed us in positive directions. While inspirational, Morgan is also hard working and has a diverse skill-set with which he is able to take on significant responsibilities. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, while Morgan is quite capable on his own, he strongly recognizes the value of networking and teamwork to augment his own abilities.
— Ben Sheldon, Interim Director, CTC VISTA Project, managed Morgan at CTC VISTA Project
Morgan is one of the most creative people I ever met - talented artist, dedicated organizer, non-trivial problem solver. On top of this Morgan is an extremely pleasant person to deal with - his creative ideas and energy are contagious.
— Daniel Obodovski, Director, Strategic Business Development, QUALCOMM Inc., was with another company when working with Morgan at ShareSD
Morgan’s enthusiasm and passion for community technology is contagious. He is always eager to share new ideas and plays an active role in educating and enlightening those around him. I gained much insight from Morgan’s approach to work and life.
— Lindsay Estrada (Sullivan), Chair, San Diego Community Technology Coalition, managed Morgan at The San Diego Community Technology Coalition
I had the pleasure of partnering with Morgan Sully for the Share, SD project here in San Diego, CA. Morgan was instrumental in organizing and directing a group of core members and connecting to groups practicing parallel disciplines around the city (and the world!) The results were engaging, entertaining and educational. While Morgan acted as the leading spirit in our community, effortlessly finding common connections to a wide variety of people, he also is a very capable tech-specialist providing assistance in networking, connectivity, operating systems and software. In 2007, Morgan was chosen to perform a the 7th annual Spring Reverb festival in San Diego, a festival that draws on talent from around the world and demonstrates Morgan’s artistic ability and integrity.
— Louis Haiman, Organizer/ Co-Founder, Share, San Diego, worked directly with Morgan at ShareSD
