In my regular paid work for the Media Arts Center San Diego, I have picked up a few hours volunteering for the San Diego Latino Film Festival. Last week, the director told me that I am ‘great’ for managing myspace account/communications/promotions. It felt really good. The use of community technology at it’s finest for me:)

This festival is awesome. Last year, a documentary I helped out with about queer youth and spirituality called Altared Lives was shown at the festival. The discussion and discourse afterwards was really good. The see the youth and the people who worked on the documentary speak out not only about their experiences working on the project, but also their experiences as queer youth was really inspiring. The documentary even got featured in the Framline Festival in San Francisco.
